    Teachers, indeed the silent heroes, shape the minds and hearts of our society in the future. Their work lies not inside the four walls of the classroom: knowledge is only a part of it; rather, it nourishes character, values, and aspirations in students. They inspire curiosity, foster passion, and encourage them to be responsible citizens.

    They have a great influence because their actions form the very fabric of our nation. And they are beacons that lead us through some of the hardest times we go through and joy at our triumphs. They believe in us even when we doubt ourselves. The commitment of the members to education is proof of their hard work and passion in making a difference.

    This calls for an opportunity to sincerely thank teachers across the country. Let's acknowledge their hard work and unwavering commitment; invaluable contributions are made toward the future of the nations. Let us unite-the students, parents, communities, and policymakers-in support of the teachers and resources needed with proper recognition. Together, we will make a difference in the lives of our teachers and so in the futures of our nations.

Violence against women is one of the worst social problems facing the world and the Philippines. Results from the 2022 National Demographic and Health Survey indicate that almost 1 in 5 women experience emotional, physical, or sexual violence by their partner. This is where laws, including Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9262, popularly referred to as the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, play their role of protection of these women against these violations and promoting the gender equality principle.  R.A. 9262 has been viewed as a landmark one as it criminalizes other forms of abuse against the women and children, including physical, psychological, emotional, economic, and sexual abuse.
